Ukrainian Anual Community Service Award is going along with the International Decade of Culture of Peace and Non-Violence (2001-2010) announced by UN General Assembly.
Main goal of the contest is activization of peacemaking movement among children and young people of Ukraine and other countries and assistance to expansion of service and charity projects.
Contest participants can be groups of children and young people from general education schools, new type schools, educational institutions besides schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities, as far as youth NGOs.
Contest Goal
The primary objective of contest is an assistance the decision of problems within the framework of achievement of "Millenium Development Goals" which were accepted by UNO (2000-2015), and also activation of peacemaking motion, among children and young people of Ukraine by distribution of projects of service in the context of the Decade of the culture of Peace and non-violence proclaimed UNO in interests of children of planet (2001-2010).
Priority tasks:
to assist the development of Program UNO is "Millenium Development Goals" in accordance to Millennium Declaration of UNO from September, 18, 2000; that General Assembly accepted on a 55th session;
assistance in realization of Program in the area of Peace culture of UNO, by the ratified resolution 53/243 General Assembly from September, 13, 1999, decisions of the Special session of General Assembly of UNO "
realization of international standards in industry of human, Convention of UNO, rights about rights for a child, rights for national minorities, people, without citizenship, refugees, international humanitarian law;
assistance forming of active public position in young people, as for the future leaders of society;
activation and popularization of voluntary motion;
deepening of peacemaking knowledges of children and young people, development of their legal, personality, base culture;
to get attention of public organizations, organs of power, self-government to the urgent vital problems of people who needs special attention and mercy;
unite efforts of public organizations, organs of power, in development of vital competence of children, their viability, mobility; to unite children and young people in the process of making a decision;
to acquaint with different forms and activity to service society; mercying for the sake of building world culture of peace; social and interpersonal co-operation;
to promote forming and development for the students of personality, etno-national, civil codes, common to all mankind values through peacemaking activity;
to form and develop ethics of interpersonal relations and healthy, sober way of life, especially among children and teenagers.
To teach participants:
to find out those, who needs help, mercy and guardianship, on the basis of conducting of various researches, raids, studying of local problems;
to co-operate the team of participants of project with society, MASS-MEDIA, the organs of power, different departments;
to plan the peacemaking activity to solve exact vital problems;to promote forming of strong family;
during realization of project to acquire stage-by-stage skills of practical public activity, social activity, communication;
to create the climate of goodwill, mercy, tolerance, with the purpose take off psychological, physical, social barriers, which eliminate or limit participating of people in valuable life-creating, self-realizations, and also culture of life without an alcohol, tobacco and drugs;
to get other citizens and organizations in vital problems solution.
